Write an essay (150- 200 words)<\/span><\/h4>\n

Choose one of these statements and think of strong arguments FOR and AGAINST it.<\/span><\/h4>\n

    \u00abThe primary purpose of the justice system should be the rehabilitation of criminals rather than their punishment.\u00bb<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n
  2. \n

    \u00abTrue equality before the law is impossible as long as wealthy individuals can afford superior legal representation.\u00bb<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Paragraph 1:<\/strong> Introduction (30-40 words)<\/span><\/h4>\n

    Objective: Present the topic in general, without giving an opinion yet.<\/span><\/h4>\n

    Content: An introductory sentence to \u201chook\u201d the attention of the reader. Paraphrase the statement you chose and write a sentence stating that there are two opposite opinions\/postures about this topic. Ex. \u00abWhile some argue that…, others believe…\u00bb<\/span><\/h4>\n

    Paragraph 2:<\/strong> Arguments FOR (55-65 words)<\/span><\/h4>\n

    Objective: Develop the arguments in favor of the statement you chose.<\/span><\/h4>\n

    Content: Present a solid argument and a clear justification. You can use examples. Use connectors of addition such as \u00abFurthermore\u00bb, \u00abIn addition\u00bb, etc.<\/span><\/h4>\n

    Paragraph 3:<\/strong> Arguments AGAINST (55-65 words)<\/span><\/h4>\n

    Objective: Develop arguments against the statement that you chose and show the opposite perspective.<\/span><\/h4>\n

    Content: Make a contrast with the previous paragraph. Introduce a clear and strong counterargument using contrast connectors such as \u201cOn the flip\/other side\u00bb, \u201cOn the other hand\u201d, \u00abIn spite of this\u00bb, \u00abConversely\u00bb, etc.<\/span><\/h4>\n

    Paragraph 4:<\/strong> Conclusion (30-40 words)<\/span><\/h4>\n

    Objective: Close the essay and give a balanced opinion<\/span><\/h4>\n

    Content: Make a summary of the opinions on both sides (paraphrasing) and clearly express your<\/strong> opinion. You can use connectors such as: \u00abTo conclude, it appears that… because…\u00bb<\/span><\/h4>\n
