- Choose one of the sentences to start your short story (100-120 words):
- “It was midnight when the phone rang.”
- “We had been driving for hours when we saw the sign for a small hotel and decided to stop.”

- Plan your story (Characters? Place? Time? Main conflict? Topic? What is it about?)
- Remember to use TIME EMPRESSIONS to define the order of the events in your story.
- Remember to use CONNECTORS to make your story more fluent.
- Remember to use ADJECTIVES (to describe nouns) and ADVERBS (to describe verbs)
- Remember to use expressions to create SUSPENSE when getting into the climax!
- If you include DIALOGUE, remember to use “…”
- Be careful with the use of NARRATIVE TENSES!
- Remember to divide your story into paragraphs!
